Service Description
Turn theory into a fluent, musical language you can hear, analyze, and use. Study one-on-one with either Dr. Cornelius or Dr. Miller to master core skills—rhythm literacy, ear training, part-writing, and harmonic thinking—then move into applied topics like form and analysis, counterpoint, jazz harmony, reharmonization, and lead-sheet/Nashville number fluency. Sessions feature concise explanations, targeted exercises, and immediate application at the instrument or on your own pieces, so concepts stick. We also offer focused prep for AP Music Theory, auditions/placements, and collegiate theory. You’ll leave each lesson with clear takeaways, custom materials (worksheets, examples, listening lists), and a plan for steady progress. Available live online anywhere or in person (Miami).
Cancellation Policy
Private Lesson Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy Who this covers. All one-on-one lessons with Madrigal Music (in-person or Zoom), including single-lesson purchases and monthly plans. Time zone. All times are Eastern Time (ET). 1) Rescheduling & Cancellations (Student-initiated) 24+ hours before your lesson You may reschedule once at no charge using the booking link or by contacting us. For monthly plans, the make-up must occur within the same billing month. 24 to 12 hours before your lesson Late change fee: $25 per lesson to reschedule. No refunds. For monthly plans, the make-up must occur within the same billing month. Less than 12 hours / No-show The lesson is forfeited and non-refundable. Rescheduling is not available. One emergency waiver per term (Fall: Sep–Dec, Spring: Jan–May, Summer: Jun–Aug) At our discretion, we may waive fees once per term for illness or true emergencies if you notify us before the lesson start time. 2) Late Arrival We’ll remain available for 15 minutes. After that, it’s considered a no-show. Arriving late does not extend the lesson past the scheduled end time. 3) Teacher Cancellations If we must cancel, you’ll receive a make-up lesson or a full credit/refund (your choice for single lessons; credit for monthly plans). 4) Monthly Plans (4 lessons/month) Auto-renew monthly on your sign-up date. Make-ups don’t roll over to the next month. (To keep progress consistent, please reserve a regular weekly slot.) Pausing: You may request one pause per term (7–30 days) with 7 days’ notice; remaining lessons in that month convert to credits usable within 60 days. Cancellation of plan: Cancel any time; the current billing month is not refunded, but remaining lessons in that month may be taken as scheduled. 5) Single-Lesson Purchases Payment is due at booking. Standard reschedule/cancellation windows above apply. No refunds once booked; credits only as stated. 6) Technology & Materials (Online Lessons) Test audio/video and internet before the lesson. Tech issues on the student side follow the same timing rules above. 7) Health & Safety (In-Person) If you are ill, please switch to Zoom or reschedule per the windows above. We reserve the right to move any lesson online at our discretion. 8) How to Cancel/Reschedule Use the link in your confirmation email or contact us at beaucorneliusmusic@gmail.com. The timestamp of your message determines eligibility for fees/credits.
