Meet The Team
We all love music, but becoming a serious musician requires both dedication and hard work. Dr. Beau Cornelius is a Miami-based jazz pianist, producer, professor, and private instructor whose artistry and scholarship bridge tradition with innovation. In May 2024, he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Jazz Instrumental Performance from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. His doctoral essay, A Historical and Musical Primer of Jazztronica, is the first dissertation to document the electronic subgenre of jazztronica from musical, technological, and historical perspectives in an academic setting.

Dr. Cornelius maintains a vibrant performance schedule, appearing as much as five nights a week across South Florida. He holds weekly residencies at the Betsy Hotel, the Faena Hotel, and the West End Lounge, in addition to performing at private events. He is also available for consultations in musical instruction, performance, and composition.

Over the course of his career, Beau has studied and collaborated with world-renowned artists including Gregg Field, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Javon Jackson, John Clayton, Wayne Bergeron, Alphonso Johnson, Rodney Jordan, Alan Pasqua, Russell Ferrante, Peter Erskine, Patrice Rushen, Dafnis Prieto, Chuck Bergeron, Dan Jordan, Martin Bejerano, and Aaron Serfaty. His versatility has also led him to open for iconic performers such as Ms. Lauryn Hill, Diana Ross, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Pitbull, LL Cool J, and The Chainsmokers at the 2023–24 American Express Carbone Event.
Dr. Amy Miller is a cellist and music educator from Bethesda, Maryland, where she began formal studies on the instrument. In high school she was selected for the National Symphony Orchestra Fellowship Program at the Kennedy Center, performing side-by-side with NSO members and appearing on the Millennium Stage. Her early musical life also included the American Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Children’s Chorus of Washington.

Dr. Miller earned her Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan (2016), studying with Anthony Elliott, and her Master of Music in Performance from the University of Texas at El Paso (2019), studying with Zuill Bailey. At UTEP she led the Outreach String Program, teaching young orchestra students and private lessons. As a member of El Paso ProMusica, she brought performances and educational visits to schools, nursing homes, and children’s hospitals.

Her summers have been enriched by renowned programs including Interlochen Center for the Arts, Encore/Coda Music Festival, and Meadowmount School of Music. For five years, she served on the faculty at Camp Encore/Coda in Sweden, Maine, as Strings Department Head, teaching cello and conducting the Philharmonic String Orchestra.

In 2023, Dr. Miller completed her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Cello Performance and a certificate in Live Entertainment at the University of Miami Frost School of Music. She served as the Strings Teaching Assistant for the Donna E. Shalala MusicReach Program and was a fellow of the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra.

A passionate educator, Dr. Miller is dedicated to fostering a lifelong love of music in her students. She shares her experience, artistry, and practical know-how to help young musicians build solid technique, expressive musicality, and confidence on and off the stage. Believing that great teaching is both rigorous and inspiring, she blends time-tested methods with creative, student-centered strategies to meet each learner where they are—equipping them with the tools to succeed and an enduring appreciation for the arts.
From Our Students
Mr. Joel Greenfield
“I am an amateur adult piano player. I have been playing since childhood, but with time restraints of school and work, I have had many lapses in my learning. I walked into a lounge one Sunday and was taken aback by the pianist I heard - That’s the day I met Beau Cornelius! Not only is he a great player, but he has a wealth of theory that he loves to impart to his students. He is kind, and he is very complementary and inspiring. You will be very pleased and your skills will improve!”

From Our Students
Mr. Diego Stein
“Beau is an incredible pianist and teacher. He is a master of his craft and always brings something valuable to every lesson. Whether you are struggling with a song, a piece of sheet music, jazz, or improvisation, Beau goes above and beyond to ensure you feel more confident and comfortable with your playing.
One Saturday morning, instead of our usual in-person lesson, Beau and I decided to try a virtual lesson. To my surprise, this lesson with Beau was completely different from others I have experienced. The setup was impressive: I could see him and his keyboard clearly, follow along with corresponding sheet music in real time, and watch the notes and chords appear as he played. This made it easy to understand and apply what I was learning. In fact, I found the virtual lesson to be just as valuable as our in-person sessions.
With Beau, I feel challenged and inspired. The overall experience - from his teaching style to the tools he uses and the progress I made - prove that lessons with Beau are absolutely worth the investment!”
